My favorite thing to do on my day off is to sleep in because I don’t get to do that very often. I also like to plan something fun for the day like going to the Henry Doorly Zoo or going out to dinner and a movie. 2. Name one of your favorite movies? One of my favorite movies would be Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. I can watch that movie over and over and never get bored with it. 3. What were your interests growing up? I loved to play softball and soccer because I starting playing them at a young age. My favorite sport is soccer!! I was also involved in the school plays, cheerleading/dance team, and band. 4. Do you have any pets? My family has a golden retriever named Duchess and I love being able to go back home and take her on walks and just lay around with her. I also have a black fancy hamster named Prince. 5. What are you most proud of? I am most proud of being accepted into veterinary school because of all the hard work it took to get there and it will give me the opportunity to do what I love. I was accepted into the University of Nebraska–Lincoln & Iowa State University Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine and will graduate in 2012. 6. Tell us about your family. I got married on October 11, 2008 and my husband is currently attending pharmacy school at UNMC. I grew up in Valley, NE where my mom is an elementary teacher and my dad works at 3M. I have two younger brothers. My youngest brother just started high school and my other brother finished up his degree in automotive technology and is now working at a Ford dealership. I love going back home when I get the chance because I am very close to my family and enjoy spending time with them. 7. If you could be any animal which one would you be? My favorite animals growing up were killer whales and dolphins, so I would probably be one of those because they have always fascinated me. 8. Do you have any heroes? My parents are my heroes. They have always been very supportive and have guided me to become the person that I am today. 9. What is your favorite color? I have many favorite colors but right now I really like the color lime green. 10. What is your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is Christmas because it is a chance for all of my cousins, grandparents, aunts, and uncles to get together and have a good time. I also love the food, especially the peanut butter cookies with a Hershey kiss in the middle. 11. What is your favorite restaurant in Lincoln? Two of my favorites would be Misty’s and Red Robin. 12. What are your favorite TV shows? My favorite TV show would be The King of Queens because every episode makes me laugh.
